Hiking

We decided to do something different this year for Labor Day. Our kids all love the outdoors. They can walk and run for miles and they never seem to get tired. Maybe they get that from their mother??? So, we hiked up South Mountain as a family and we all had a great time. We probably hiked for 4 or 5 miles. We forgot to bring the Garmin, though, so we don't know for sure. We started getting closer to the top and the drop-offs were getting steeper and the trail was getting narrower and I was getting more and more nervous. Needless to say, I told everyone that we had come far enough and if we kept going I might have a heart attack. I was just getting too nervous watching the boys getting so close to the edge. So, the boys, very reluctantly, I might add, turned around and we walked all the way back down the mountain. We did end up driving to the top for the great view, though. All in all we had a terrific time. Madeline thoroughly enjoyed it as well, especially drinking from Mike's camelback.
